Eligibility of Bidders:
Interested Applicants must provide information evidencing that they are qualified and experienced to perform those Services. For that purpose, documented evidence of recent and similar services shall be submitted.
Determination of the similarity of the experiences will be based on:
• The contract size: The firm must demonstrate strong experience in providing technical assistance and capacity building for protected area management, with a proven track record in supporting large-scale conservation projects in Ethiopia. Minimum 3 contracts in supporting conservation projects within the last 10 years.
• The nature of the services: The assignment involves part-time technical assistance to the Maze National Park Management and the Project Management Unit (PMU). The services will include field missions and remote advisory support in the areas of fire prevention and management, biodiversity monitoring, natural resource governance, sustainable water management, and community-based livelihood development. .
• The technical area and expertise: The consulting firm should demonstrate strong experience in protected area management and conservation, with expertise in biodiversity, fire management, and strategic planning. The team must possess proven technical, analytical, and communication skills, with proficiency in English and familiarity with local contexts.
• The location: The firm and its experts should have extensive experience specialized in the management of protected areas in Africa. Experience working in Ethiopia would be considered an asset, but is not mandatory.
• Proven consultancy and/or work experience: Demonstrated collaboration with international NGOs and bilateral or multilateral organisations in Africa, particularly in protected area management and conservation projects.
• Expertise in data analysis and adaptive management: Proven ability to apply qualitative and quantitative data analysis tools and methodologies to support evidence-based decision-making and adaptive project management in conservation contexts.
